What’s the Latest on the South End of the Dallas North Tollway?

• Work on the roof has begun. Demolition of the existing plaza is underway.

• A new beam to support the Wycliff Avenue Bridge Widening is now in place. New beams for the Maple/Knight Street bridge widening have been erected. Concrete slabs for the bridge approaches have been constructed and the bridge slab extension is under construction.

• Utility conflicts have caused some delay in paving eastbound Oak Lawn Avenue. Those conflicts have now been resolved. As a result, grading, stabilization and paving will begin soon.

• Wall panels that will serve as new retaining walls along the south end of the Tollway have arrived. Crews are currently installing wall panels at the Oak Lawn Bridge.

• New bridge beams for the Cedar Springs Bridge will be installed the first weekend in April. This work will require a portion of the Tollway to be closed for 24 hours from Saturday, April 7 at 12:01 a.m. until Sunday, April 8 at 12:01 p.m. Traffic is anticipated to be switched to the new portion of the bridge in early June.

So, as you can see…the hard work continues as crews continue to work around the clock on the south end of the Tollway. At times the work must be done at night, but we are working to minimize those night time inconveniences.
