NTTA Helps Welcome Soldiers Home NTTA staff helped welcome home military personnel returning from the Middle East for some much-needed rest and recuperation (R&R) March 9-15, 2009 at D/FW International Airport.
Flights arrived starting at 7 a.m., but volunteers said the experience was worth the early morning reveille.
“Today was one of the most fulfilling and personally positive uses of my time since I have been in Texas,” said Ed Wilmes who works in NTTA’s Project Delivery Department. “Our nation is so blessed to have citizen-warriors and the families who support them.”
In addition to giving the soldiers a warm, welcoming cheer, staff handed out goodie bags filled with cookies, snacks and other treats generously donated by NTTA consulting companies.
Every day, more than 100 soldiers pass through D/FW Airport on their way home for two weeks of well-deserved R&R. To learn how to become involved, visit http://www.dfwairport.com/heroes/index.php.
