Resurfacing work is under way on Tollway and Turnpike Brief, temporary closures of exit and entrance ramps will occur as work progresses, but motorists will be advised of closures via dynamic message signs placed well in advance of preceding exits.
On the PGBT, eastbound and westbound lanes between IH 35E and the DNT will be overlaid with asphalt. The first step, now under way, is to mill the surface to provide a level, textured contact surface for asphalt overlay.
Work will begin at IH 35E and proceed eastbound, affecting two lanes at a time. Traffic will be reduced to one lane for a mile or more during the construction hours.
On westbound lanes, work will begin at the Tollway and gradually move toward IH 35E in sections.
Work on the DNT will be between Lemmon Avenue and the LBJ Freeway. Procedures include crack sealing and spot repairs of the existing surfaces followed by asphalt overlay.
Work on northbound lanes will begin at Lemmon Avenue and proceed north in the first phase. Southbound lanes will be resurfaced in the second phase beginning at LBJ Freeway.
