Project Updates

Reconstruction Underway at Kelly Boulevard on Bush Turnpike

Work began in June to reconstruct the retaining wall at Kelly Boulevard on the President George Bush Turnpike.

Crews have worked mainly at night to excavate the remaining portions of the wall that had moved in early 2010. They drilled shafts, installed steel, and poured concrete for the drill shafts to support the new wall structure in July. In total, 172 drilled shaft columns were constructed.

Speed Limits Increase on Three NTTA Roads

Drivers now can get there even more quickly by traveling several NTTA facilities where speed limits are set to increase.

The NTTA Board of Directors in June approved a 5 mph increase to speed limits on Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge, Addison Airport Toll Tunnel and Mountain Creek Lake Bridge. Results from an engineering and traffic analysis, commonly known as a speed study, determined the changes.

NTTA Legislative Update

During the 82nd Texas Legislature, the NTTA supported Senate Bill 469, authored by Sen. Jane Nelson, to revise the NTTA’s toll collection process. SB 469 benefits customers who pay to use the NTTA System by assessing the cost of the NTTA’s toll enforcement efforts onto the small minority who refuse to pay.
