The NTTA has been recognized by the Government Finance Officer Association of the United States and Canada with its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the NTTA’s 2010 budget.
The award recognizes an organization’s ability to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
“The award signifies the Authority’s commitment to its budgeting process and its ability to maintain and deliver a financially sound and vibrant financial system,” said Janice Davis, NTTA chief financial officer.
To receive the award, the NTTA satisfied the following nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. In each of these categories, the NTTA was rated “proficient.”
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 17,600 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards program is the only national awards program in government budgeting.
