PGBT Western Extension Construction Heats Up

Crews are maintaining a steady pace of construction along Phase 4 of the President George Bush Turnpike Western Extension project. Excavation work required to build the future toll road under Egyptian Way continues north of Interstate 30. In addition, various traffic switches are being incorporated at the I-30 interchange to accommodate future detours. Crews have also begun pouring the NTTA concrete columns in this area.

On the south end of the project, work continues along the Union Pacific Railroad and I-20, with ongoing installation of permanent drainage lines. At I-20 and Crossland Boulevard/Forum Drive, direct connector foundations are being installed. At the I-20 interchange, drainage and bridge columns are being installed, and excavation work continues at Main Street in Grand Prairie.

The final phase of the project extends from I-30 to I-20, providing main lanes and two major interchanges. This new corridor will provide another critical roadway to meet the growing transportation needs of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
