Drive Our Roads to Holiday Destinations

The holiday season in North Texas means shopping, sporting events and fun, and the NTTA is your partner in getting you to all your holiday activities on time. Whether it’s first in line or last minute shopping, an NTTA roadway will take you there. Even better, as part of the Drive Our Roads campaign, you can be entered to win a great prize by using your TollTag anytime from Dec. 5 through the end of the year.

The President George Bush Turnpike leads to a number of exciting destinations. Start your holiday shopping by traveling the Bush Turnpike east and exit State Highway 78 to Firewheel Town Center. Or, start your shopping experience by driving westbound PGBT and exit Interstate 35E to shop Vista Ridge Mall. If you plan to take the family out to Christmas in the Park at Six Flags, the PGBT Western Extension (State Highway 161) will take you directly to I-30, just minutes from the Six Flags exit.

The Dallas North Tollway has its own prime entertainment and shopping destinations. Travel the Dallas North Tollway south and exit Harry Hines Boulevard to catch a Dallas Stars hockey game at the American Airlines Center. Be sure to check out the country’s tallest indoor Christmas tree at Galleria Dallas; simply exit the Tollway at Alpha Road/Galleria. Travel just further north to the Park Road exit to check out the latest stores at The Shops at Willow Bend.

In Frisco, north of the newly opened Dallas North Tollway/Sam Rayburn Tollway interchange, you’ll find one of the largest synchronized holiday light shows in Texas, plus a free, family-friendly holiday celebration followed by the NCAA Division I Football Championship to kick off the New Year.  Take the Main Street exit from the Dallas North Tollway to Frisco Square and Pizza Hut Park.  Beginning Nov. 25, Frisco Square will feature more than 100,000 lights set to holiday music in a one-of-a-kind computerized light show.  On Dec. 3, the City of Frisco will host Merry Main Street, featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, live reindeer, Santa’s workshop and Santa himself!  On Jan. 7, two teams touchdown at Pizza Hut Park as they compete for the 2012 Division I Football Championship Game trophy.

The Sam Rayburn Tollway takes you to some of the most popular holiday destinations. Travel the toll road and exit Parkwood Boulevard to meet Santa at Stonebriar Mall. Continue west on Sam Rayburn Tollway and exit Bass Pro Drive to check out two of Grapevine’s main attractions—Grapevine Mills and the Gaylord Texan Resort.

If you’re flying out of town for the holidays, the NTTA has you covered at the airport too. Take the Bush Turnpike to bypass construction activity near the north entrance of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and you'll arrive in plenty of time for your flight. Drive the Bush Turnpike/SH 161 to SH 183 west and exit International Parkway/DFW Airport to the south entrance. If you’re headed to Dallas Love Field Airport, the Dallas North Tollway to Mockingbird Lane is a direct route to happy flying. Plus, your TollTag provides the easiest payment option for pass-through and parking at either airport. DFW Airport even offers a discount for TollTag customers – 50 percent off the pass-through rate and $1 off terminal parking.

Best of all, a TollTag saves you money on getting to all these destinations, leaving you with more money for holiday fun. You can have up to three TollTags on a single account at no extra charge.  To add or open an account, visit NTTA’s
