Wrap up the Year with Tax-Deductible Donation

Add the NTTA’s Jere W. Thompson Jr. Scholarship to your charitable donations list, and you’ll receive the gift of a tax deduction. The needs-based scholarship program helps disadvantaged engineering students focus on a rewarding career that will have a real impact on people’s lives.

The scholarship assists engineering students who may not otherwise be able to continue their education or pursue their professional aspirations. The NTTA established the scholarship in 2001 to ensure that high-caliber candidates continue to graduate from engineering programs at Texas colleges and universities. Since then, the Authority and its corporate partners have awarded more than $92,500 in scholarships.

Donations to the scholarship fund are tax deductible. The scholarship is administered by the Dallas Foundation, a community-based, tax-exempt 501(c)3 public charity that enables individuals and corporations to easily and effectively support issues. To learn more about the scholarship or to make a tax-deductible donation, please visit www.DallasFoundation.org.

With your help, scholarship recipients will be able to spend more time studying for exams and less time worrying about college tuition. They will receive financial aid and professional experience to help pursue their academic goals and a career in civil engineering.

The scholarship provides recipients up to $2,000 per semester with a maximum award of $8,000 over four semesters. Each year’s recipient also is offered a summer internship with the NTTA or one of its corporate partners.

The wavering economy, tuition increases and limited student loan availability are just a few of the challenges students face today. With help from your donations to the Jere W. Thompson Jr. Scholarship, the NTTA is working to support a dynamic engineering workforce that provides innovative solutions to tomorrow’s mobility needs.
