Bridging the Gap: NTTA to break ground on the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge
The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) will officially break ground for the construction of the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge on Wednesday, January 31 at 3:00 p.m. The project will connect the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) in Frisco at Eldorado Parkway to IH-35E at Swisher Road in Lake Dallas.
The 1.7-mile, $122.2 million bridge will provide commuters with a new east-west corridor through Denton County and is scheduled to open to traffic in Spring 2009. The bridge will provide a vital link for the 13.8-mile corridor, which is a joint project with Denton County, the NTTA, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and local municipalities. The four-lane bridge, designed by Turner, Collie & Braden, Inc., will span the northern arm of the lake.

NTTA welcomes home the troops at DFW
For six consecutive days in December, NTTA employees and some of their family members gathered at DFW International Airport to welcome home the troops from Iraq. This effort was part of the “DFW Welcome Home program” for military personnel arriving home for R&R (a two-week rest and relaxation program). Several individual and corporate sponsors donated time, money and snacks for the soldiers to assist the NTTA in this special event. The NTTA would like to thank the following supporters: Mrs. Stephanie Halliday, HNTB Corporation, SecureNet, Locke Liddell & Sapp LLC, KBR (Kellogg Brown and Root), TransCore Inc., Maple Office Supply, Ideas ‘N Motion and Carter & Burgess Consulting Engineers for their donations. Thanks also to the dozens of volunteers who participated in the welcome. |
