NTTA to Host Town Hall Meeting for President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension As the President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension project passes 60-percent completion, the NTTA will host a town hall meeting to provide the public with the latest construction and traffic information. The meeting is scheduled for Jan. 20 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sachse City Hall, 3815 Sachse Road, Building B, Sachse, Texas.
The PGBT Eastern Extension is a portion of the outer loop around Dallas and will extend approximately 9.9 miles. There are five sections of the corridor – four are under construction by the NTTA and one is under construction by the Texas Department of Transportation. Construction began in October 2008, and all five sections of the extension were officially under construction by mid-March 2009. The project will be open to traffic in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Dallas County Commissioner Mike Cantrell’s office is working with elected and public officials from Garland, Rowlett and Sachse to plan an opening event to celebrate the newest mobility link. The PGBT Eastern Extension Opening Community Event Planning Committee meets monthly.
As construction continues, motorists may continue to experience traffic shifts, lane or street closures or other detours along the construction area. The NTTA appreciates the public’s patience as work continues on this important project in eastern Dallas County.
Detour and construction closure information can be found at NTTA.org or by signing up for the PGBT Eastern Extension bi-weekly newsletter.
