NTTA’s 1989 Introduction of TollTag Listed as One of 25 “Eureka Moments” by USA Today

As an innovator, the NTTA recognized that there were several benefits to investing in electronic tolling. Electronic tolling allows for drivers to zip through toll booths without slowing down to manually pay the tolls. Motorists do not have to worry about getting caught on the toll road with no cash. In addition to added convenience, electronic tolling is safer and much better for your automobile and the environment.

When the NTTA introduced its TollTag system, the Dallas North Tollway became the first toll road to use electronic tolling in the United States. Since then, the TollTag has grown in popularity. There are over 1.2 million NTTA TollTags in use today. NTTA TollTags can be used on any toll road in the state of Texas and for parking at D/FW International Airport, Dallas Love Field and select parking garages.
