New Toll Rates Effective July 1 The NTTA reminds drivers that a regularly scheduled toll rate increase takes effect July 1, raising rates by 0.8 cents per mile, adjusting the rate from 14.5 cents per mile to 15.3 cents per mile.
This increase, announced in 2009, follows a schedule that requires toll rates to be increased every other July at a compounded annual rate of 2.75 percent. NTTA rates are consistent with the toll rate structure recommended by the Regional Transportation Council.
ZipCash customers, who pay 50 percent more than TollTag customers, are encouraged to get a TollTag to help reduce the impact of the increase. Opening an account is just a click away at the Online Customer Service Center. The NTTA also partners with local municipalities, ACE Cash Express and other retail locations to provide hundreds of convenient TollTag service locations throughout the metroplex. A complete list of TollTag distribution locations and their services is available at www.NTTA.org. Learn more about the billing and payment at www.ntta.org/AboutUs/WaysToPay.
The rate increase helps the NTTA deliver regional transportation projects that relieve congestion, preserve a strong and financially viable system and maintain quality, safe and reliable roadways. The increase also helps protect the NTTA’s credit rating, ultimately ensuring the NTTA’s access to low-cost borrowing.
The NTTA continues to deliver on its mission to provide mobility solutions, including completion of the eastern and western extensions of the President George Bush Turnpike, completion of Sam Rayburn Tollway and supporting future projects like Chisholm Trail Parkway.
