Business Diversity Advisory Council Formed

At its regularly scheduled board meeting Monday, May 18, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) Board of Directors approved the formation of the NTTA Business Diversity Advisory Council (BDAC) to advise the NTTA’s Business Diversity Department (BDD) in its efforts to encourage the participation of minority, women, small and disadvantaged business enterprises in NTTA contract opportunities.

The BDAC will be comprised of six members who will be recommended by the board.

“The inclusion of women and minorities in contracting opportunities is a hallmark of successful government entities,” said NTTA Chairman Paul N. Wageman. “The formation of the Business Diversity Advisory Council is further evidence of our commitment to enhancing our relationship with the minority, women, small and disadvantaged business enterprises contracting community, thereby helping to enrich the economy of North Texas.”

In addition to providing ongoing advisory support, the BDAC will assist the BDD with outreach activities, serve as a primary resource in identifying specific industry groups to target procurements, and help identify barriers experienced in contracting by minority, women, small and disadvantaged business enterprises.

The BDAC is scheduled to be formed in July.
