Construction Begins on Phase 4
of Bush Turnpike Western Extension (SH 161)

Motorists should see signs of progress now that construction is underway on Phase 4 of the President George Bush Turnpike Western Extension (PGBT WE), also known as State Highway (SH) 161.

Prairie Link Constructors began initial construction on Phase 4 of the PGBT WE in May. Construction activities include installing erosion control devices and delivering equipment to the I-30 interchange area in anticipation of starting excavation activities.

Conversion to All-Electronic Toll Collection Proceeds

The NTTA is moving forward on converting the remainder of its System to all-electronic, or cashless, toll collection (all-ETC) before the end of the year. Construction on the Dallas North Tollway from Interstate 635 to Parker Road will begin in late May/early June 2010. Initial construction will focus on installing the new main lane gantry (MLG) at Trinity Mills Road and the new MLG just south of Parker Road. Project Updates

Upcoming Traffic Switches to Accommodate Sam Rayburn Tollway Interchange Construction
Several traffic switches will occur in the next 90 days to keep construction moving forward on the new Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/U.S. 75 (Central Expressway) interchange in Allen, Fairview and McKinney. While the next few months will bring several detours, motorists will soon see progress on the four-level interchange and will be driving on new pavement. Read More ›



Public Meeting Scheduled for SH 360 Corridor Project
The NTTA and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 24, 2010, to discuss the proposed State Highway (SH) 360 project, which is Section 1 from Green Oaks Boulevard/Kingswood Boulevard to U.S. 287 in Tarrant and Ellis counties. Read More ›
