A word from the customer…. In response to last month’s eNewsletter article on Tailgating, we received this thoughtful response from a customer:
“I appreciated your article in this month's newsletter about tailgating. I work very hard to make sure I am not a tailgater. I can't believe everyone doesn't know about the 2 sec. rule; however, that seems to be the case. Education may help--I hope so. The problem is that while I'm managing the traffic ahead of me to stay a safe distance away, the car behind me is, most of the time, tailgating me. It's much more difficult to manage the space behind me, of course.
I do sometimes move over; however, it really gripes me that I have to move over and let that person pass when I'm already going with the flow of the traffic. And, something that makes me really mad is when someone comes speeding up behind me flashing his/her headlights for me to get over. To me that's like saying, "this is my road and you're in my way--get over." They are going way over the speed limit, too!
I am very good at controlling my temper and so far, thank the Lord, I have not been in a fender bender. I pray that will continue and will continue to do my part.
I encourage you to educate drivers at every chance about the dangers of tailgating.
Any chance the State Troopers could get [the equipment] like Grand Prairie that measures the distance between vehicles? Seems to be helping there.”
Keep talking and writing to us; we appreciate feedback from our customers.
