Roadway Customers Service Offers Unmatched Value

Safety is included in the price of your tolls, and that provides real value.

If you can think of a safety need a driver may encounter while on one of the NTTA’s approximately 100 miles of roadways, chances are the NTTA’s Roadway Customer Service team can help. This is part of the NTTA’s ongoing efforts to provide a safe and efficient travel experience not only to those who need help but also those driving around them.

In 2010, the Roadway Customer Service team assisted NTTA customers approximately 24,000 times. In January 2011 alone, the team helped motorists 1,999 times.

“We would like to tell you thank you,” wrote one driver who was helped by the Roadway Customer Service team in February 2011. “We have never had to use the service before, but it is a great one to have. I am glad that our toll dollars pay for this. The gentleman that assisted us was great!”

The team changes flat tires, airs low tires, adds water to radiators, jump-starts dead batteries, adds a small amount of gasoline to stalled cars, pushes vehicles out of the roadway, helps people with directions to their destinations and makes minor vehicle repairs. When all else fails, the Roadway Customer Service team drives stranded people to a safe location. The service is a courtesy to drivers on our roads. All this is done at no additional expense to toll drivers.

“I had a blow out on my car Tuesday night around 6:30 p.m.,” one customer wrote in February. “Within 10 minutes this wonderful worker had pulled up to help me. He was very courteous and concerned with my safety. He did a great job – thank you so much!”

The Roadway Customer Service team operates on three shifts 24-hours a day. The team patrols NTTA roadways responding to all accident scenes to provide scene protection and traffic direction as well as searching for stranded drivers and other hazards on our system. They are part of a larger network of NTTA employees focused on driver safety. The NTTA Command Center uses technology in place on much of the System to indicate the location of a stranded motorist needing help. They immediately dispatch Roadway Customer Service. When motorists call the emergency number on their TollTags, the calls are routed to the NTTA Command Center, and the Roadway Customer Service team is quickly dispatched.

So, if you find yourself on one of our tollways with just three good tires, an overheated radiator or a dead battery, give the Roadway Customer Service team a call at 972-444-HELP (4357). They are always happy to help.
