"Oh, the Places You'll Go" - NTTA Travel Survey 2011

You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go. - Dr. Seuss

Customers who drive North Texas tollways are invited to participate in a review of toll facility performance.  The 2011 Travel Survey will help NTTA learn more about the travel characteristics of drivers who use the toll roads, plan to use the toll roads and even those who do not use the toll roads.

The survey, will be available online in early March through April. Those completing the survey will be eligible to win iPod nano™ or iPad™ devices.

Survey information will be kept completely confidential and the results will help NTTA determine future mobility projects and respond to stakeholders, the driving public, elected officials and investors.

The 2011 Travel Survey focuses on the entire network of toll roads in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and will be conducted by outside consultants from Wilbur Smith Associates and Resource Systems Group, Inc.

There are two components of the 2011 Travel Survey:

Origin/Destination Survey – This is the shorter of the two surveys, about five minutes in length. Survey results will be used to refine models to determine where trips are starting and ending, trip lengths and paths and trip characteristics such as frequency, TollTag usage and income range. These survey results will test and validate NTTA travel forecasting models to determine items such as system expansion and future toll road development.  Participants completing this survey will be entered to win iPod nano™ devices.

Revealed Preference/Stated Preference Survey – This 15-20 minute survey will focus on travel preferences as they relate to cost and reasons for selecting or not selecting the toll roads. It includes a series of eight games/scenarios that survey values as they relate to travel.  This survey is important to determine travelers’ values of time.   Participants completing this survey will be entered to win iPad™ devices.

NTTA staff, consultants and family members are not eligible to win the iPod nano™ or iPad™ devices.
