“The establishment of a Finance and Audit Committee and hiring of an Internal Audit Director are proactive actions that demonstrate the agency’s commitment to good stewardship of agency resources,” said NTTA’s Chairman Paul N. Wageman.

 

The NTTA System Finance and Audit Committee was established by the Chairman of the Board and met for the first time on January 31, 2008. Audit committee members are Gary Base, Chairman, and Paul Wageman, Collin County appointees to the NTTA Board, Bob Day, Dallas County appointee, Victor Vandergriff, Tarrant County appointee and Mike Nowels, Denton County appointee. The committee will meet monthly and be responsible for reviewing financial statements, audit results and financial reporting procedures; oversight of the external public accounting firm and other external services; oversight of NTTA’s Internal Audit Department; oversight of debt financing process. 

 

Kovats has over 18 years of internal audit experience. She joins the agency from Friedman’s Inc., where she established an internal audit department.   As the Director of the Internal Audit Department, she will report directly to the System Finance and Audit Committee.
