Trips to Arlington’s entertainment and sports district will be a little smoother now that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has completed the latest phase on the State Highway 161 project. Phase 3 is the northern portion of the project and opened to traffic nearly eight months ahead of schedule on April 10. It extends south from Conflans Road to North Carrier Parkway and provides three all-electronic toll collection lanes in each direction.
Drivers will continue to see some construction workers over the next few months putting the final touches on this section of the project. Read More ›

One Million TollTag Accounts and Growing
The NTTA reached another milestone in April by adding its one-millionth TollTag account.
“More and more North Texans are discovering they can save money and benefit from the convenience of a TollTag, as well as improve mobility and safety on the roads,” said NTTA Assistant Executive Director of Operations Clayton Howe.
There are many reasons motorists should get a TollTag:
• Customers who use ZipCash—the NTTA's cashless toll collection method—pay 50 percent more than customers who have TollTags.
• Having a TollTag eliminates stop-and-go travel and allows for better fuel efficiency.
• TollTags can be used on any toll road in Texas. Read More ›

1.Tire Test
Tires are important -- they're the only things connecting your car to the road, so examine them carefully. Pay close attention to tire pressure and tire tread -- you can buy a tire pressure gauge and tread depth gauge from an auto parts store. When checking tire pressure, refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for correct air pressure information or refer to information usually posted on the inside of your car's doorjamb. If you’ve placed new tires on your car since you bought it, check the tire sidewall for inflation Read More ›
