NTTA Roads Link to Summer Fun Summertime in North Texas means sports, sun and fun, and the NTTA is your partner in getting you to all your summer activities on time. Whether it’s a first pitch, first in line, or a day at the lake, an NTTA roadway will take you there.
The President George Bush Turnpike Western Extension (State Highway 161) leads you to a world of fun and excitement along Interstate 30. If you are headed to the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington to see the hottest team in baseball, the Western Extension will take you to I-30, just minutes from the Ballpark exits. You’ll get there quicker than a Josh Hamilton homerun reaches the stands! The Western Extension also leads you to Hurricane Harbor, where you can beat the heat with a little water fun, and to Six Flags Over Texas, where you can ride the new-and-improved Texas Giant.
The Dallas North Tollway has its own prime destinations and can take you straight to various sports venues around town. Travel the Tollway north and exit Gaylord Parkway to Dr. Pepper Ballpark, home of the Frisco Roughriders and future stars of the Texas Rangers. Fans of soccer, the world’s most popular sport, can travel just a little further north to the Main Street exit and Pizza Hut Park to experience the sights and sounds of a Major League Soccer game featuring the hometown team, FC Dallas. The Tollway’s smooth, easy flow will have you screaming “GOAL!” in no time.
Cool off from the hot summer sun with a trip to Lewisville Lake. The President George Bush Turnpike, Sam Rayburn Tollway and Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge all are options to get you to the lake.
If you’re flying out of town for your summer fun, the NTTA has you covered at the airport too. Avoid the construction delays around DFW Airport's north entrance – and possibly missing your flight -- by taking Bush Turnpike to the airport’s south entrance on State Highway 183. If you’re headed to Dallas Love Field Airport, the Dallas North Tollway to Mockingbird Lane is a direct route to happy flying.
