TollTag Basics: Answers to your Questions

Q: I’m a new TollTag customer but don’t use the tollways very often. How long will that $40 I put on my account last?

A: The $40 you used to establish a pre-paid balance on your TollTag account is good for an indefinite amount of time.  Once that money is on your account, it stays there until it is depleted.  The NTTA deducts the exact toll amounts from your account each time your TollTag passes through an operating toll lane.  When the balance reaches $10, the NTTA will charge another $40 to the credit/debit card backing your TollTag account to maintain the balance.  Customers who have cash-backed accounts must add funds in person at the NTTA Customer Service Center or a participating ACE Cash Express location.

You can use your TollTag to move around the entire state of Texas, including toll roads in the following metro areas:

  • Dallas – Fort Worth
  • Austin
  • Houston
  • Tyler
  • San Antonio (coming soon)
  • El Paso (coming soon)

Also, TollTag customers with credit card-backed TollTag accounts can use their TollTags for parking and pass-through at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and for parking at Dallas Love Field Airport.  TollTag customers pay 100 percent less to pass through DFW Airport.  And beginning Oct. 1, they will receive $1 of terminal parking at DFW Airport.
