ZipCash Billing Process Change Begins Nov. 1 The North Texas Tollway Authority is phasing in a new ZipCash billing process beginning Nov. 1 that will help customers better anticipate billing while also reducing the number of invoices per vehicle.
ZipCash is the NTTA's pay-by-invoice method of toll collection. ZipCash customers receive invoices for their tolls based on their toll usage, and invoices are mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.
Beginning Nov. 1, ZipCash customers will be billed 20 transactions per invoice or, for less frequent users, five transactions within a 30-day period. The number will increase to 30 transactions per invoice in 2011. (Less frequent users will continue to be billed for five transactions within a 30-day period throughout this transition.)
ZipCash invoices can be paid online, by mail or phone, or in person at the NTTA Customer Service Center or a participating ACE Cash Express location.
TollTag customers maintain prepaid accounts to pay their tolls electronically. Each time a vehicle with a TollTag passes through a toll lane, the applicable toll is deducted automatically from the account. When the account balance drops to $10, the credit/debit card backing the account is charged $40 to maintain the balance. (Customers who have cash-backed accounts must add funds to their accounts at the NTTA Customer Service Center or a participating ACE Cash Express location.) To ensure accurate billing and prevent any disruptions in service, TollTag customers should update their TollTag account anytime they have changes to their vehicle, license plate, or credit/debit card information.
A TollTag customer may receive a ZipCash invoice if (1) the customer fails to update the account with new vehicle or credit/debit card information or (2) the customer does not maintain enough funds in the account to pay the applicable tolls. In these instances, TollTag customers will receive an invoice for the tolls incurred at the ZipCash rate. Customers can resolve these invoices by contacting NTTA Customer Service.
