Ramp Paving Complete for Cashless Tolling Initiative

The NTTA has reached a small milestone in the conversion to cashless tolling, as all concrete ramp paving is now complete on the Dallas North Tollway. The last areas paved were at the Royal Lane, Northwest Highway and Mockingbird Lane ramps. Concrete paving completion helps widen the work zones and improve motorists’ mobility. Construction work on the toll road is expected to be completed by year’s end.

In October, construction crews installed new railing at the toll gantry near Parker Road in Plano, and they also removed portable concrete traffic barriers and restriped entrance and exit ramps along the Dallas North Tollway at Spring Valley, Belt Line, Keller Springs and Frankford roads.

The cashless tolling system electronically reads TollTags and/or license plate information. This allows for less stop-and-go traffic, so motorists experience less traffic congestion, enhanced safety and improved air quality.
