Temporary Ramps Ease Traffic at PGBT Eastern Extension/SH 78

Motorists driving on the President George Bush Turnpike in Garland have an easier commute near Firewheel Parkway since newly configured temporary ramps opened in October to ease congestion through the busy State Highway 78 intersection.

A temporary westbound entrance ramp provides access from the frontage road to the Bush Turnpike’s Eastern Extension main lanes, and a temporary eastbound exit ramp at SH 78 and Firewheel Parkway also keeps traffic moving through the area. Although motorists will drive under toll gantries at the ramps, tolls will not be collected until the complete corridor is open.
