NTTA, TxDOT Conduct SH 170 Public Meeting The NTTA and the Texas Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Nov. 10 for Section 1 of the State Highway 170 project, which runs from Interstate 35W in Fort Worth to State Highway 114 near the Town of Westlake. The meeting will be held in an open house format 6-8 p.m. Nov. 10 at Tidwell Middle School, located at 3937 Haslet-Roanoke Road in Roanoke.
The open house meeting format will allow citizens an opportunity to come and go at their leisure and will give them a chance to view project maps and exhibits, discuss details one-on-one with project team members and comment on the proposed plans before final planning for the project begins.
Comments may be submitted in advance by email to SH170@NTTA.org or by mail to SH 170 Corridor Manager, NTTA, P.O. Box 260729, Plano, Texas, 75026. Comments must be postmarked by Nov. 21 to be included in the official public record.
Planning efforts for SH 170 by the NTTA are expected to result in an approved schematic design and environmental documentation in 2013. The North Central Texas Council of Governments’ long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Mobility 2035, identifies the SH 170 corridor from U.S. 81/U.S. 287 in northern Tarrant County to SH 114 in southern Denton County as ultimately a six-lane toll road.
