King Tut Exhibit Comes to Metroplex The NTTA has partnered with the Dallas Museum of Art to help promote the upcoming King Tut exhibit, “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” starting in October and running through May 2009. With more than one million visitors expected in Dallas, NTTA toll roads will help ease the flow of traffic to this historic event.
Travelers will see signage promoting the King Tut exhibit along the Dallas North Tollway (an express route to the Dallas Museum of Art), and the President George Bush Turnpike. In addition to special offers, a TollTag saves you time and money, works on any toll road in the state and can be used for parking and pass through at D/FW International Airport and parking at Dallas Love Field.
“Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” first toured the United States from June 2005 to September 2007. During that time, the exhibit traveled to four cities and attracted more than 4 million viewers, producing record attendance at each museum it visited. The encore exhibit features 130 artifacts from Tut’s tomb and other ancient Egyptian sites, including objects that were not included in the previous U.S. tour and have never been seen outside of Egypt. This exhibit marks the first time that Tut artifacts have been displayed in the Southwest.
The Dallas Museum of Art is located at 1717 N. Harwood St. in Dallas. For more information on “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs,” please visit www.dallasmuseumofart.org.
