President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension Construction Continues

Crews continue working on all five sections of the President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension, moving the 9.9-mile extension closer to its anticipated opening in December.

Over the last month, crews focused much of the work on the Extension’s interchanges with other roads. Crews completed Miller Road in Rowlett, and the road is in its final configuration with no further traffic staging necessary. Meanwhile, work on the north half of the State Highway 66 bridge near downtown Rowlett included the placement of a bridge deck. This project is in Section 30, which extends from north of the future Merritt Road to south of Main Street.
