TollTag Q&A

Q: I’m planning to buy a new car soon. Can I keep my old TollTag?

A:
Yes, if you have a hard-cased TollTag and only after you update your account with the new vehicle information. For temporary (paper) plates, please update your account’s vehicle information online by checking the “temporary plate” box, and include the expiration date. Once permanent license plates are issued, you must update your account with the permanent plate information.

Sticker TollTags cannot be removed without damaging them, so you’ll need to get a new TollTag to go with your new car. Simply contact us with your driver license number and the TollTag account number, and we will be able to deactivate the old account and issue a new TollTag.

Each TollTag is directly associated with a specific car and license plate. Switching TollTags between cars without updating your account may cause you to receive ZipCash invoices at the higher toll rates. Manage your account online or call us at 972-818-NTTA (6882).
