NTTA Assumes Responsibility for SH 121, Newest Segment of SH 121 Set To Open and New Rates Go Into Effect On Aug. 31, State Highway (SH) 121 will become part of the NTTA System for the next 50 years. Additionally, drivers using State Highway (SH) 121 will have an additional nine miles of toll road to travel on, as the segment from Old Denton Road to Hillcrest Road is completed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and is opened to traffic. For the first time since spring 2006, motorists driving on the south end of the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) will be able to use all six main lanes of traffic. By the end of August, all traffic lanes will be open from just south of Lemmon Avenue to the Interstate Highway (IH) 35E exit ramp.
“We hope our customers are just as thrilled as we are that all the main lanes south of Lemmon Avenue will be open by Labor Day,” said Elizabeth Mow, NTTA Director of Project Delivery. “We’d like to thank all of our customers for their patience during our construction.”
