Speed Limits Changing on NTTA Roads The NTTA Board of Directors voted in August to adjust speed limits on the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) and President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) based on the results of a speed study. The speed limits go into effect as soon as new signs are installed. Signage installation will begin Aug. 20, and will continue through Sept. 1. The recommended speed limits could not be implemented until environmental speed limit designations were removed on certain portions of the roadway.

The northern portion of the Sam Rayburn Tollway‘s (SRT) third phase will open to traffic Oct. 1, rounding out nearly 23 miles of vital roadway needed for improved mobility in the North Texas region.
The portion slated to open Oct. 1 extends north from Custer Road to Hardin Boulevard. The southern portion of phase three is slated to open Sept. 1, and extends from Hillcrest Road to just north of Custer Road. What is Distance-Based Tolling?

NTTA’s Third Party Program Gets a New Name
After years of being known as the NTTA’s Third Party Vendor Program, the initiative has been renamed to reflect its new influence. The program is now known as Regional TollTag Partners. The program was originally created to give motorists additional places to get a TollTag, but it has grown to allow the NTTA to distribute TollTags, build community partnerships, distribute information about new projects and reach out to the whole region.

Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge Opens to Traffic
Traffic is flowing across the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge (LLTB), which opened Aug. 1, 2009. The days leading to the opening included several events to dedicate and celebrate the new Denton County landmark.

Traffic to Switch Lanes on U.S. 75 near Sam Rayburn Tollway All traffic on U.S. 75 in Collin County will soon be shifted onto the southbound side of the highway for approximately one mile near the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) interchange.

NTTA Prices $1.42 in Bonds to Fund Mobility Solutions On Aug. 3, the NTTA priced three series of revenue bonds totaling $1.42 billion.
