ZipCash Collection Process Changes Sept. 1

A bill recently enacted by the Texas legislature will change the way NTTA invoices ZipCash customers starting Sept. 1. NTTA collection goals remain the same: customers choosing to drive on the toll road are expected to pay for the service through either the TollTag or ZipCash payment methods.TollTag customers are not directly impacted, but please share with your ZipCash friends that toll invoices can add up if not paid on time.

The overall objective of this change is to make sure that all customers are treated equitably – that is to say - that all have the opportunity to drive NTTA toll roads, and toll payers do not bear the burden of non-toll payers. The Authority is working for timely collection of unpaid tolls and is using the administrative fees to offset the costs to collect delinquent toll invoices, rather than burdening our patrons that pay their tolls on-time.

ZipCash Billing Cycle
Effective Sept. 1, the NTTA’s ZipCash billing process will change pursuant to Senate Bill 469. The administrative fees authorized for each nonpayment notice are listed below.

These new procedures and fees will be reinforced in the NTTA’s upcoming “Pay your Bill” advertising campaign. The online, radio and print ads will encourage ZipCash customers to pay their invoices on-time when no fees are added, alert them to the risks and consequences of ignoring the invoices, and highlight the advantages of opening a TollTag account.

TollTag benefits go beyond the cash savings – since ZipCash customers pay 50 percent more than TollTag customers. There’s also easy payment for parking at Dallas Love Field and D/FW International airports, as well as discounted rates for parking and pass-through at D/FW International. TollTags also can be used on any toll road in Texas without the hassle of receiving and paying bills through the mail.
