NTTA Board Approves Legislative Program

The NTTA Board of Directors formally approved its legislative agenda for the upcoming 80th Legislative Session at its regularly scheduled Board Meeting on December 20. The NTTA will be proactively involved in passing important legislation aimed to improve its operations and policy, and fulfill the agency’s mission to improve the mobility, quality of life and economy of the North Texas region. President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension

The first Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the cities directly affected by the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) Eastern Extension has been completed. The City of Rowlett and the NTTA executed their ILA on November 30. The two remaining local government ILAs were approved by the NTTA Board at its regular meeting on December 20.

In addition, The NTTA and the Texas Department of Transportation are nearing finalization of their two-party agreement, which will put into place the mechanism to allow the purchase of Right-of-Way for the proposed corridor. Dallas North Tollway South End Construction

As part of the North Texas Tollway Authority’s (NTTA) continuing improvements at the south end of the Dallas North Tollway, it has been necessary to reduce the number of lanes available to motorists at the Wycliff Toll Plaza.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, southbound lanes at the Wycliff Toll Plaza were reduced to four lanes – two cash lanes and two TollTag lanes. The northbound lanes at the Wycliff Toll Plaza will be reduced similarly to four – two cash lanes, and two TollTag lanes by mid-January, 2007.
