The NTTA submitted an application in August 2009 to the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) Program Office for the SH 161 project in the amount of $400 million. The NTTA is committed to improving mobility in North Texas and believes in working with the communities it serves, including public stakeholders and business vendors. To increase its outreach efforts and to market contracting opportunities to the public, the NTTA hosts Vendor Outreach Symposiums (VOS) periodically to provide information about upcoming projects. The VOS is a traveling road show and a one-stop outreach for prospective vendors. Electronic Tolling Moves Forward in 2010
Motorists traveling on the Dallas North Tollway (DNT), Mountain Creek Lake Toll Bridge (MCLB) and through the Addison Airport Toll Tunnel (AATT) will begin seeing the first steps of the conversion of those roadways to all-electronic toll collection. The conversion is slated for the fourth quarter of 2010. Southwest Parkway Advances with Contract Opportunities
The NTTA published an advertisement in December 2009 calling for bids on the Southwest Parkway (SWP) project for advanced construction work in and around the Union Pacific Railroad’s (UPRR’s) Davidson Yard, between Forest Park Boulevard and Hulen Street in Fort Worth. As a regular TollTag customer, you may have wondered where your tolls are going and how that revenue is used. Now you can read how your tolls contribute to North Texas' improved mobility, economic development and more in the NTTA’s latest edition of eTa (estimated time of arrival). The NTTA is dedicated to making sure the tolls you pay are put to work to improve regional mobility. The eTa contains information explaining how each time a vehicle passes through a toll booth, the funds collected go toward the construction, maintenance and operation of NTTA roadways. Construction to Begin on New Sam Rayburn/Dallas North Tollway Interchange
The NTTA expects to begin construction in February 2010 on the new Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/Dallas North Tollway (DNT) interchange in the cities of Frisco and Plano. During its regularly scheduled meeting in December 2009, the NTTA Board of Directors awarded the construction contract on the new $79.4 million interchange. Each TollTag is directly associated with a specific license plate on record with the NTTA. For temporary (paper) plates, please update your vehicle by checking the “temporary plate” box, and include the expiration date.
