TollTag Basics: Answers to Your Questions

Q: Do I have to wait for my permanent license plate before getting a TollTag or updating my account?

A: No, a temporary license plate can be added to your TollTag account.  Each TollTag is directly associated with a specific license plate on record with the NTTA. For temporary (paper) plates, please update your vehicle by checking the “temporary plate” box, and include the expiration date. Once you receive your permanent license plates, you must update your account with the new information.  If you change license plates on your vehicle, you also may update your account online at www.ntta.org.

Throughout 2010, Driving Forward will include answers to some frequently asked questions you may have about your TollTag account, including information about maintaining your account, toll rates, interoperability, where to get TollTags, and much more.  So be sure to check back each month for more information!
