NTTA’s “Five in Five” Projects State Highway (SH) 170/Alliance Gateway (SH 199 to SH 114)
Located in Denton, Tarrant and Parker Counties, this limited-access roadway in southern Denton County, northern Tarrant County and eastern Parker County will provide connectivity from the Fort Worth Alliance Airport, the D/FW International Airport and major regional trucking routes. Next, the NTTA will conduct a project viability analysis and will work with TxDOT on this 26.9 mile project. This project is estimated to cost $2.3 billion and portions could be open from as early as 2012 to 2017.
Southern Extension of SH 360 (US 67 to Green Oaks Boulevard)
Located in Tarrant, Johnson and Ellis Counties, this project will serve as an alternative route for IH 35W and IH 35E through the metroplex. It will also improve connectivity between the proposed southern section of the metroplex outer loop and the D/FW International Airport. This 15.2 mile, $1.5 billion project is in the planning and environmental analysis stage. The roadway could be open from as early as 2012 to 2017.
SH 190 East Branch (IH 20 to IH 30)
Located in Dallas County, this roadway will connect Loop 9/SH 190 and the Eastern Extension of the President George Bush Turnpike. This $2.3 billion project is scheduled to open between 2014 to 2019.
Trinity Parkway (IH 35/SH 183 to US 175/SPUR 310)
Located in Dallas County, this project will provide a new location toll road around downtown Dallas as an alternate route for IH 35E and IH 30. The 10-mile, $950 million project’s opening date is still to be determined as are the roles and responsibilities of all agencies involved. Partner agencies include: the City of Dallas, TxDOT, Dallas County, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and various reviewing agencies.
