Government Affairs Update
Senate Bill 882, which revises the NTTA’s enabling statute, became law this week. The new law authored by Sen. John Carona and sponsored by Rep. NTTA Staff Recommends Toll Increase


The NTTA System Finance and Audit Committee received a staff briefing in June, but took no action, on a plan to implement a new distance-based tolling structure for its roadways.  Under the plan, motorists would pay roadway tolls that are based on actual distance traveled.  The recommended toll structure increases tolls by approximately three-and-a-half cents per mile.

On Wednesday, July 1, the NTTA will transition to all-electronic toll collection (all-ETC) on the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT).

If you have a TollTag, you shouldn’t notice a major change.  But motorists without a TollTag, ZipCash customers, will have a new way to pay.  Instead of stopping to pay cash, ZipCash customers should KEEP MOVING.

Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge to Offer Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity


Competitive runners and Saturday strollers will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to cross the NTTA’s new Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge (LLTB) during a 5K race and Family Fun Walk before the bridge opens to traffic in August.

Organized by community leaders and sponsored in part by the NTTA, the “Run the LLTB” 5K race begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.

NTTA Dedicates Sam Rayburn Tollway
The NTTA formally dedicated the Sam Rayburn Tollway on June 5 with help from several generations of the public servant’s descendants.

Sam Rayburn’s niece, Martha Rayburn Dye, and members of the extended Rayburn family unveiled a plaque that commemorates the corridor’s name change from the 121 Tollway and celebrates the namesake’s devoted service.

The NTTA Customer Service Center and Administrative Offices, located at 5900 W. Plano Parkway in Plano, and the TollTag store, located at 12300 Inwood Rd. in Dallas, will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.  The Customer Service Center only also will be closed on Saturday, July 4.
