Government Affairs Update The NTTA serves as resource to the Dallas Fort Worth Congressional and legislative delegations during the 81st Texas Legislature and 111th Congress. At the state level, the NTTA is pursuing statutory changes to its toll violation and collection process, in addition to working with its mobility partners to clarify existing authorities and identify additional tools to expedite project delivery.
In Washington, the NTTA supports continuation of and expansion of the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA). The TIFIA program provides secured loans with deferred interest and lines of credit for surface transportation infrastructure projects of national or regional significance, which can serve as a critical component in the financing of start-up toll roads, allowing them to get through the revenue ramp-up period.
