Government Affairs Update

This legislative session, the NTTA is pursuing statutory changes to its toll violation and collection process, in addition to working with its mobility partners to clarify existing authorities and identify additional tools to expedite project delivery. Legislation was filed forwarding those initiatives: SB 882 by Sen. John Carona and companion bill HB 2334 filed by Rep. Charlie Geren.

In Washington, meanwhile, the NTTA continues to urge the expansion of the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) program as it appropriately recognizes that deferred interest is a critical component of the financing for start-up toll roads.
