Bill Moore to Join NTTA Board At its regularly scheduled September board meeting, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) Board of Directors announced that William “Bill” Moore will join the Board of Directors as a Collin County appointee beginning Oct. 1. Moore was appointed by the Collin County Commissioners Court in August, and replaces Gary Base, who has served on the Board of Directors since September 2006.
“We look forward to Bill’s service as we continue to focus on addressing the region’s mobility needs,” said Paul N. Wageman, chairman of the NTTA Board of Directors. “Bill’s engineering background will be of significant benefit to the board.”
Moore is owner of W Moore Project Consultants, Inc. in Plano and a registered professional engineer. He works primarily with manufacturing companies managing engineering and capital investment projects. He also conducts Resource Conservation workshops and audits for the food and beverage manufacturing industry in the United States and internationally. He has been a senior manager with diverse responsibilities in engineering design, capital accounting, environmental compliance, real estate and international capital purchasing.
Moore has served on several boards and commissions in Collin County over the past 15 years. He is currently a member of the Collin County Planning Board and the volunteer board for the Collin County Adventure Camp operated by the YMCA. He updated the Collin County Mobility Plan during his term as chairman of the Planning Board. Moore served on the Collin County Parks Board where he led the development of the Collin County Parks and Opens Space Master Plan. He has chaired or served on citizen boards for each of the Collin County bond elections held over the last decade.
“I am honored to be appointed to the NTTA Board of Directors,” said Moore. “I look forward to working with the Authority and regional transportation leaders on improving mobility for the North Texas region.”
Base, who is chief executive officer of ViewPoint Bank, has accepted an appointment to the Mutual Savings Association Advisory Commission in Washington, D.C. “We are indebted to Gary for his service and significant contributions to the NTTA during his tenure,” said Wageman.
“I have enjoyed working with my fellow board members in helping to deliver vital transportation needs to the region, and wish Mr. Moore all the best in his new role,” said Base.“
Two current members of the board of directors, Kenneth Barr of Tarrant County and Dr. Bob Day of Dallas County, were reappointed by their respective counties and sworn in by Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price.
