On Aug. 31, State Highway (SH) 121 will become part of the NTTA System for the next 50 years. Additionally, drivers using State Highway (SH) 121 will have an additional nine miles of toll road to travel on, as the segment from Old Denton Road to Hillcrest Road is completed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and is opened to traffic. Eastern Extension Groundbreaking
Area officials celebrated the start of construction on the President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension during a groundbreaking event at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008.
