NTTA Approves Legislative Goals for the 81^st Texas Legislature
The NTTA Board of Directors approved its Legislative Goals for the 81^st Texas Legislature at its regularly scheduled Board meeting on August 20, 2008. The NTTA looks forward to working with you, area legislators and regional leadership over the next several months and into the 81^st Legislative Session.

NTTA Chairman and Executive Director testify at Legislative Hearings
NTTA Chairman Paul N. Wageman testified before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation in Austin on June 17. Chairman Wageman discussed the various methods available to the NTTA to finance toll projects in the North Texas region.
 
In August, both Chairman Wageman and NTTA Executive Director Dr. Jorge Figueredo were invited to testify before the CDA Legislative Study Committee hearing in Irving. Senator John Carona of Dallas chairs the Committee. Chairman Wageman discussed the impact of SB 792 on toll project development and the NTTA’s role in advancing projects in North Texas. Dr. Figueredo testified about private sector investment in mobility projects, and the possibility of developing a hybrid finance model combining the strengths of both the public and private sectors.
 
 
NTTA Hosts Georgia Governor
In September, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) will host a Georgia delegation including Governor Sonny Perdue and representatives from the Georgia state toll authority. The group will discuss best practices on toll operations and the NTTA’s conversion to all-electronic toll collection in 2009.
